Amazon peak season 2026 calendar: peak fees begin October 15 and Black Friday deal submissions close October 20

Amazon Peak Season 2026: The Fees and Deadlines That Hit This Week

Amazon peak season 2026 starts costing you money on Thursday. Holiday peak fulfillment fees begin October 15. Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal submissions close October 20. The inbound cutoffs for getting stock in on time land on October 14, 21 and 28.

That is three decisions in 16 days: what to charge, whether to run a deal, and how much stock to send. Here is each date, what it changes, and the one check worth doing before it.

The Amazon Peak Season 2026 Dates

The deadlines and fee window come from Amazon’s own Seller Forums post, “Holiday 2026: Same fees, same eligibility, earlier deadlines”. Amazon hasn’t said how long Black Friday Week runs this year, and dates can vary by marketplace, so confirm yours in Seller Central.

October 15: The Fee Is Small. The Price You Set After It Isn’t.

Peak fees add an average of $0.32 per unit over non-peak rates, the same increase as last year (PPC Land). On a $25 item that is about 1.3% of the price. Annoying, not a crisis.

What isn’t frozen is the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge Amazon added on April 17. It stays on top of the peak fee for the whole season.

The real risk is the reaction. The common move is to push the whole increase into the price on October 15. But Amazon’s Pricing Health page marks offers priced significantly higher than recent prices, on or off Amazon, as ineligible for the Featured Offer (Amazon News). Raise 40 ASINs by a dollar on the same morning and some of them can lose the Add to Cart button altogether, five weeks before your biggest sales week.

Two checks instead:

  • Check the fee Amazon actually charges. After October 15, compare each ASIN’s FBA fee with the peak rate you expected. A size-tier re-measure can quietly move an ASIN into a pricier tier, and that kind of overcharge is claimable. Our FBA fee reimbursement guide shows how.
  • Stage your price increases. Move your top sellers first, check Pricing Health and your Featured Offer share the next day, then move the rest.

October 20: Is a Black Friday Deal Worth It?

Deals cost a $100 upfront fee per promotion plus 1.5% of promotional sales, capped at $5,000 (PPC Land). Some sellers reported the registration screen showing $50 per day instead. That hasn’t been cleared up, so read the fee line before you submit.

The fee is rarely what decides it. A deal only displays when your offer is the one shoppers see. If another seller on your listing undercuts you mid-event, your deal sits there unseen. On a shared listing, that is the risk to price in. Amazon’s own guidance is that Featured Offer prices are “commonly at or below the lowest priced alternatives” (Amazon).

One bit of good news from October. Amazon told sellers that Prime Big Deal Days prices are excluded from the Black Friday deal lookback, so a deep October discount doesn’t disqualify you now. More on that in our Prime Big Deal Days breakdown.

October 21 and 28: What a Late Shipment Costs

Miss a cutoff and your units still arrive. They just may not be Prime-eligible for the event. That costs you twice: shoppers filter for Prime, and delivery speed is one of the inputs Amazon weighs when it picks the Featured Offer. Fulfillment method itself no longer decides it, as we covered in how the Featured Offer went fulfillment-neutral. Speed and certainty still do.

The bigger cost is the stockout that follows a late shipment. When your FBA stock hits zero in late November, your offer drops off the listing. On a shared listing, the next seller takes the sale. On your own brand’s listing, it is an open door for an unauthorized seller, and one who arrives during Black Friday Week is much harder to deal with than one you catch in October.

I’d send the minimal-splits shipment by October 21 and treat October 28 as the backup, not the plan.

Your Peak Season Checklist

  1. By October 20: submit your Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, or decide on purpose that you won’t.
  2. By October 14 and 21: get AWD and FBA shipments in.
  3. October 16 onward: check per-ASIN FBA fees against the peak rates you expected. Flag any size-tier change.
  4. Before you raise prices: do it in batches and check Pricing Health a day after each one.
  5. If you run a repricer: lift its floors to include the peak fee and the surcharge, so it doesn’t sell at a loss in November.
  6. From mid-November: watch stock cover and new sellers on your top ASINs every day.

The last two are the hard part, because they never stop. SentryKit alerts you when an ASIN’s FBA fee changes, when you lose the Buy Box, when a new seller joins your listing and when FBA stock runs low. It doesn’t touch your prices. It tells you which ASIN needs you. Plans start at $19/month with a 14-day free trial. See pricing.

Peak season isn’t won on Black Friday. It’s set up in the next 16 days.
