Getting Started
What is SentryKit?

SentryKit is a Buy Box intelligence platform built for Amazon sellers. It monitors every signal across your catalog — Buy Box ownership, hijackers, pricing gaps, listing health, inventory, and sales velocity — and alerts you within ~90 seconds of any change, with full context on what happened, what it's costing you, and what to do next.

It's not a repricer. SentryKit is the visibility layer that ensures every decision you make — or that your repricer makes — is based on accurate, real-time signals.

Who is SentryKit built for?

SentryKit is built for Amazon FBA sellers, private label brands, and agencies managing multiple seller accounts. It's most valuable for sellers who care about Buy Box ownership, want to catch hijackers early, and need to know when listing health or inventory issues are quietly costing them revenue.

Individual sellers use it as their first line of defense. Agencies use it to monitor 5+ client accounts from a single dashboard. Brands use it to protect their catalog across distributors.

How long does setup take?

Setup takes under 5 minutes. You connect your Amazon Seller Central account via the official Amazon SP API — SentryKit is an Amazon-authorized integration. Once connected, your ASINs are imported automatically and monitoring begins immediately. No manual ASIN entry, no CSV uploads. Your first alerts can fire within 90 seconds of a real event.

Is there a free trial? Do I need a credit card?

Yes — SentryKit includes a 30-day free trial with full access to all alerts and Buy Box intelligence features. No credit card is required to start. You can monitor your catalog, receive real-time alerts, and evaluate the platform before committing to a paid plan.

Is SentryKit an official Amazon integration?

Yes. SentryKit connects via the Amazon Selling Partner API (SP API) — the official Amazon integration standard. Your data is pulled directly and securely from Amazon, and SentryKit is authorized to access your seller data within Amazon's policy framework.

Does SentryKit replace my repricer?

No — and it's not designed to. Repricers like Seller Snap and Informed Repricer are excellent at executing price changes at speed and scale. SentryKit is the signal layer that ensures your repricer is working with clean information. When a hijacker lands, when a listing gets suppressed, or when your floor is breached — your repricer doesn't know. SentryKit catches it first. Many sellers run both tools together.

Buy Box
What is Buy Box Intelligence?

Buy Box Intelligence is the continuous monitoring and synthesis of competitive signals — pricing gaps, fulfillment type, stock levels, listing health, and sales velocity — that determine Buy Box ownership on Amazon. It gives sellers a clear view of what's actually happening in real time, so every pricing decision is made with accurate information rather than algorithm output alone.

What is the difference between Buy Box Lost and Buy Box Suppressed?

Buy Box Lost — a competitor is holding your Buy Box. Your listing is active; another seller has won the Add to Cart button. The fix is competitive: price, fulfillment type, or seller health. Revenue is actively at risk.

Buy Box Suppressed — Amazon removed the Buy Box from your listing entirely. No seller holds it. The Add to Cart button is gone. The cause is a listing health issue: price threshold violation, missing attribute, or a policy flag. Repricing cannot fix this. SentryKit fires two separate alerts because the response is completely different.

What signals determine who wins the Buy Box?

Amazon weighs five signals continuously: competitive price, fulfillment type (FBA gets a structural advantage over FBM), seller health (feedback rating and account standing), stock availability (low stock triggers Buy Box rotation before you hit zero), and listing health (a suppressed listing removes the Buy Box entirely).

Does Amazon notify me when I lose the Buy Box?

No. Amazon does not send proactive Buy Box loss notifications. Most sellers discover the change by manually checking Seller Central — by which point revenue impact has already occurred. For sellers running paid ads, the impact is doubled: you continue paying for clicks that convert to a competitor. SentryKit fires within ~90 seconds of the change.

What is my Buy Box percentage and why does it matter?

Your Buy Box percentage is the share of time your account holds the Buy Box on a given ASIN. Since 82% of all Amazon purchases go through the Buy Box, even a small drop translates directly to lost revenue. SentryKit tracks ownership over time per ASIN and surfaces it in your daily portfolio digest.

What is a price floor and how does SentryKit use it?

Your price floor is the minimum price at which a sale is still profitable — calculated from COGS, FBA fees, referral fees, inbound costs, and margin target. SentryKit shows your floor on every single Buy Box alert, so you always know whether matching a competitor would be above or below your floor. Pro On Pro, FBA fees are pulled automatically via SP API and recalculate whenever your price changes.

Alerts
What alert types does SentryKit cover?

SentryKit monitors 20+ alert types across five areas: Buy Box & Pricing (Buy Box Lost, Suppressed, Competitor Price Change, Price Floor Breach, Margin Threshold), Competitive Intelligence (Hijacker Detected, Seller Profile), Inventory (Out of Stock, Low Stock, Sales Volume Drop/Up), Listing Health (Content Changed, Category Change, Main Image Changed), and Daily Portfolio Digest. Every plan includes all alert types.

How fast does SentryKit detect changes?

Buy Box and pricing events are detected via SQS push events from Amazon — firing within ~90 seconds of the change. Most Amazon seller tools run batch checks every 4–8 hours. When a hijacker hits your listing at 2 AM, SentryKit alerts you before the next sale is lost.

What information does each alert include?

Every alert includes: what changed, by exactly how much, who moved (seller identity and profile), estimated daily revenue impact, whether acting would breach your price floor, and 2–3 ranked action options. Enough context to decide without opening Seller Central.

What is a Hijacker alert and what does it tell me?

A Hijacker Detected alert fires the moment an unauthorized seller appears on your branded ASIN. The alert includes their price, fulfillment type, feedback score, and listing count — so you can assess whether you're dealing with a real threat or a 3-day-old account that'll be gone by the weekend. Pro On Pro, a full seller profile is added via Zyte enrichment including US-based vs. overseas flag and seller re-occurrence history.

What is the Daily Portfolio Digest?

A single morning email summarizing your full catalog: Buy Box win rate across all ASINs, estimated revenue at risk today, low stock and stock-out flags, and top competitor movements. It also delivers Tier 1 alerts on the free plan that were held overnight rather than fired in real time.

How does SentryKit get smarter over time?

SentryKit builds a baseline per ASIN over time. Day 1: event and full context. Day 30: baselines visible — what's normal vs. a genuine anomaly. Day 60: patterns learned — which competitors show up repeatedly, which Buy Box losses are worth acting on, when a sales drop is signal vs. noise.

Can I customize which alerts I receive and how?

Yes. You can set thresholds for Low Stock (your own minimum), Sales Volume Drop (your drop percentage and rolling window), and Competitor Price Change (how much a price needs to move to trigger). You can also route different alert types to different channels — Buy Box alerts to Slack, inventory alerts to email, hijacker alerts to your VA's inbox.

Pricing & Plans
How much does SentryKit cost?

SentryKit has two paid plans: Starter at $19/mo (up to 2,000 orders/month) and Pro at $49/mo (up to 10,000 orders/month). Annual billing saves 20% — Starter drops to $15/mo and Pro to $39/mo. Both include a 30-day free trial with no credit card required.

Why is pricing based on order volume and not ASIN count?

Order volume reflects the actual scale and value of your business better than ASIN count. A seller with 10 high-velocity ASINs generates more revenue at risk than one with 500 slow-moving listings. Volume-based pricing means you only pay proportionally to how much is actually at stake — and you can monitor your full catalog without per-ASIN costs.

What happens if I exceed my monthly order limit?

Alerts never stop — on Pro. If you exceed your plan's monthly order volume — during Q4, a flash sale, or an unexpected demand spike — monitoring continues uninterrupted. You'll see a clear dashboard notification and a small overage rate applies (+$8 per 1,000 orders on Pro).

On Starter, monitoring is limited to your plan's monthly order volume. If you exceed the limit, real-time alerting may pause until the next cycle or until you upgrade to Pro.

What is the difference between Starter and Pro?

Both plans include all alert types. Pro adds: full competitor seller profiles on every Buy Box event (via Zyte), US-based vs. overseas flag on every competing seller, seller re-occurrence detection, Margin Threshold alerts, automatic FBA fee calculation from SP API, and Buy Box ownership history. Pro is for sellers who want to understand their competition — not just monitor it.

How is my order count measured?

Orders are counted across all marketplaces under your Seller Central account — US, UK, Germany, Canada, and others combined. When you connect your account, SentryKit pulls your last 30 days and suggests the right plan automatically. Your rolling 30-day count is always visible in your dashboard.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. No long-term contracts, no setup fees, no cancellation fees. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your account dashboard at any time. Annual billing offers a 20% discount and can be switched to monthly at renewal.

I'm an existing SentryKit subscriber — does this pricing apply to me?

If you're already on a SentryKit plan, nothing changes automatically. Any pricing updates will be communicated directly by email with clear migration options and a transition period. You will never be moved to a new plan without your confirmation.

Integrations
What channels can SentryKit send alerts to?

SentryKit delivers alerts via email (rich emails with KPI cards, ranked options, and full signal detail), Slack (direct integration — alerts post to your channel the moment they fire), Google Sheets (every alert auto-appends a new row with timestamp, ASIN, alert type, and key metrics), and Zapier (connect to 7,000+ apps and trigger workflows in your existing tools).

Does SentryKit work alongside my repricer?

Yes — and this is the recommended setup. Your repricer handles speed and scale. SentryKit handles signal quality. When something breaks that no repricer can detect — a hijacker, a suppression, a floor breach — SentryKit catches it first and alerts you before the automation causes further damage.

Can I route different alerts to different team members or channels?

Yes. Alert routing is fully configurable. Send Buy Box alerts to your Slack operations channel, inventory warnings to your VA's email, hijacker alerts to your brand manager, and margin breach alerts to finance. Each alert type can have its own delivery channel and recipient list.

Does SentryKit integrate with Google Sheets?

Yes. The Google Sheets integration is included on Starter and Pro. Every alert automatically appends a new row — with timestamp, ASIN, alert type, marketplace, and key metrics. It creates a persistent ops log your team can filter and reference without logging into the dashboard.

Agencies & Teams
Can SentryKit manage multiple Amazon seller accounts?

Yes. SentryKit supports multiple Seller Central accounts from a single dashboard. Agencies managing 5+ accounts can connect all client accounts, monitor across catalogs simultaneously, and route alerts to the right team member per account. Each additional Seller Central login beyond the first adds $29/mo.

Is there agency pricing?

Yes. Agencies managing 5+ seller accounts qualify for enterprise pricing with volume discounts, consolidated billing, dedicated onboarding, and a single view across all client accounts. Contact us to get a custom quote.

Can my team members receive different alerts?

Yes. Alert routing is configurable per alert type and per team member. Direct hijacker alerts to your brand protection team, inventory alerts to your ops lead, Buy Box alerts to whoever manages repricing decisions. Each member only receives what's relevant to their role.

What counts as a separate seller account?

A seller account is a single Seller Central login. One login covering multiple marketplaces (US, UK, DE, CA, etc.) counts as one account. Separate Seller Central logins for different clients or brands each count as a separate account at +$29/mo.

Amazon Seller FAQs
Why do I keep losing the Buy Box even after repricing?

Price is only one of five signals Amazon uses. If you're losing the Buy Box despite competitive pricing, the cause is usually: a competing seller is on FBA while you're FBM (structural disadvantage at the same price), your seller health metrics have dipped, your FBA inventory is running low and triggering rotation, or your listing has a health issue silently removing Buy Box eligibility. SentryKit surfaces which signal is actually responsible so you apply the right fix.

What causes listing suppression on Amazon?

Listing suppression is typically caused by: a price threshold violation, a missing required attribute (image, title length, category-specific field), a content quality issue flagged by Amazon, or a policy violation. A suppressed listing has no Buy Box — not lost to a competitor, but removed entirely. No repricer can detect or fix this. SentryKit fires a specific Buy Box Suppressed alert to distinguish it from a Buy Box loss.

How does FBA vs. FBM affect Buy Box eligibility?

Amazon weights Prime-eligible FBA offers differently. An FBA seller can hold the Buy Box at a higher price than an FBM competitor because Amazon factors in fulfillment speed and Prime eligibility. SentryKit includes fulfillment type in every Buy Box alert so you always know what you're competing against.

What is an Amazon listing hijacker?

An Amazon listing hijacker is a third-party seller who attaches to your existing ASIN without authorization and competes for the Buy Box — often undercutting your price or selling counterfeit versions of your product. Amazon's shared catalog model makes this possible. SentryKit detects unauthorized sellers the moment they appear and profiles them immediately.

How long does it take to recover the Buy Box after losing it?

Recovery time depends on the cause. Price-driven losses can recover within minutes once you reprice correctly. Fulfillment-driven losses may take days if switching FBM to FBA. Listing suppression requires resolving the root cause in Seller Central first. Identifying the correct cause immediately is the single biggest factor in recovery speed — that's what SentryKit's alert context delivers.
