You added the manufacturer, the EU Responsible Person and the safety documents. A week later Amazon blocks the listing again, this time in France or Italy, with the same line: “To list this product, you must provide the information required to comply with our General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) policy.”
An Amazon GPSR block that keeps coming back is rarely a new problem. Amazon checks GPSR store by store, EPR blocks look almost the same, and a bulk upload can overwrite data you already fixed. Usually it’s one of five things, and each one has a different fix.
These five causes cover the repeat blocks we see most. Find the one that matches yours:
| Cause | What you see | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| 1. You fixed one store, not all of them | Live in Germany, blocked in France, Italy or the Netherlands | Repeat the fix in every EU store you sell in |
| 2. It is an EPR block, not GPSR | The message asks for “ERN information” | Add the registration number for that country and category |
| 3. A bulk file overwrote good data | The block returns after a flat-file upload | Build files per product type and store; never reuse an old file |
| 4. Your documents are still in review | “Under review” for days | Allow up to 14 working days, then open a case |
| 5. Responsible Person or manufacturer details missing | The same GPSR message in every EU store | Add an EU-based Responsible Person and the manufacturer’s contact details |
Most repeat blocks turn up in a store you weren’t looking at. SentryKit emails you when any UK or EU store blocks one of your listings for compliance, and again once Amazon clears it.
I read all three the same way. “Fixed” is a status per store and per requirement, not one for your whole account.
Read the message, not the status. Both blocks look alike in Listing Issues, and in the data we receive from Amazon both carry the same issue code (100632). The wording is what tells them apart:
GPSR is the EU’s product safety law, Regulation (EU) 2023/988, and it has applied since 13 December 2024 (EUR-Lex). On Amazon it means manufacturer contact details, an EU-based Responsible Person and safety information for each product.
EPR is a different thing. It proves you are registered to cover packaging and product waste in a country. Amazon’s EPR page lists Germany (a 13-digit LUCID number for packaging, plus registration with stiftung ear for electrical equipment) and France (19 categories, each with its own unique identification number), and says Amazon may need to deactivate non-compliant listings (Amazon).
So a listing can pass GPSR in every store and still be blocked in Germany for a missing packaging number. That’s why “but I already did GPSR” doesn’t settle it.
That’s five steps, in every store, every time you touch a listing. SentryKit does the checking for you. When a UK or EU store blocks one of your listings, you get an email naming the store and quoting Amazon’s message, so you can tell GPSR from EPR without logging in. It’s part of our UK and EU monitoring.
After any bulk upload, open two or three of the ASINs and check the compliance fields are still there. Your own files aren’t the only thing that rewrites a listing, either. Amazon changes listing data too, often without a notice.
The blocks themselves don’t need watching by hand. SentryKit emails you when one lands and again when Amazon lifts it, and anything still blocked after a day shows up in your morning digest. It’s the same alert we covered for brands getting “no longer eligible for third-party sellers” notices this month. Agencies running several brands can send each client’s alerts to a different inbox. Plans start at $19/month with a 14-day free trial (pricing).
Check every store after every fix, and a returning block stops being a surprise.

Amazon has blocked the listing in that store until it has the GPSR information it needs: the manufacturer’s contact details, an EU-based Responsible Person and safety information for the product. Add or correct it for that store. The block lifts once Amazon validates it.
Amazon checks compliance per store. GPSR information has to be provided for each EU store you sell in, and EPR numbers are country-specific, so France can block a listing for a missing French identification number while Germany doesn’t.
No. GPSR covers product safety information. EPR covers your registration to pay for packaging and product waste in a country. Amazon’s EPR message asks for “ERN information”, and fixing GPSR won’t clear it.
Amazon’s GPSR team has said submissions can take up to 14 working days. A listing marked “under review” isn’t live yet.
Yes, for the EU stores. Amazon’s GPSR help page says you or your supplier must appoint an EU-based Responsible Person for your products.
